How we work out Council Tax
Your Council Tax is partly calculated on your property's listing on the property bands for Council Tax.
There are additional charges that form part of your Council Tax bill. These are called precepts. Some of these precepts apply to everyone who pays Council Tax in Trafford, and some only apply to selected parishes.
Greater Manchester Combined Authorities precepts
Part of your Council Tax bill is a contribution to other important public services across Greater Manchester, such as fire and rescue services and the police.
The Mayor of Greater Manchester is responsible for setting these precepts:
- Mayoral Police and Crime Commissioner Precept
- Mayoral General Precept (including fire services)
- Greater Manchester Transport
- GMCA Waste and Resource Management
For more information, visit the Greater Manchester Combined Authority website.
