Noise pollution

Noise pollution can come in many forms. For example:

• Domestic noise and noisy neighbours
• Noise from commercial and industrial premises
• Transport and vehicle noise
• Noise from licensed premises  

Complaints about excessive noise in Trafford will be investigated by officers from our Pollution and Licensing section.

Enforcement action may be taken when noise is clearly shown to be persistent and excessive. However, in some cases, formal action may not be possible. 

If this applies, we will inform residents and guide how they can pursue their own case through the magistrates’ court.
