The information in this guide should provide most of the advice required to manage an HMO.

If you can't find the information you need, send your enquiry to our Housing Standards Team at housing.standards@trafford.gov.uk. The team can answer brief queries about HMO licensing.

Pre-license inspection

For more in-depth advice, including comments on plans and an inspection of your property, the service is chargeable. 

The fee for this service is £435 (including VAT). This covers officer time for examining plans and/or conducting a site visit, and giving feedback and answering questions.

If you are interested in this service, you first need to pay the fee online.

Once you have paid, email housing.standards@trafford.gov.uk and an officer will get back to you.
