Better bus services between Trafford and Warrington are now running

People living between Trafford and Warrington will this week see enhanced and expanded bus services introduced as part of ongoing efforts to improve access to the Bee Network.

From Monday 1 September the revamped 5, 5A and 280, operated by Warrington’s Own Buses will provide more frequent services covering more stops including Dunham and Warburton, improving travel options for people making cross-boundary journeys to and from Altrincham and Sale into Lymm and onto Warrington in Cheshire.

Meanwhile the 287 Bee Network service will see its weekday timetable improved to provide a consistent, hourly service across the day with journeys operating from Langham Road direct via Bow Green Road.

They follow last month’s announcement at the launch of the Greater Manchester Strategy (GMS) that the Bee Network will soon see more night buses, a new Bee Network service and improved frequency on routes across Greater Manchester to help boost growth, increase passenger numbers and support the region’s night-time economy.

Cllr Aidan Williams, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Climate Change said:

"These improvements will provide a better bus service for residents here in Trafford as they make journeys both around the borough and over the border into Cheshire and Warrington.

"This is great news for passengers, who I know have been calling for these changes, and I'm especially pleased for our residents in Dunham and Warburton who will be able to get around even more easily on public transport.

"The Bee Network has been fantastic for people here in Trafford and I'm pleased that it's continuing to deliver."
