Residents in Broadheath are urged not to miss out on voting.
Sara Todd, Returning Officer for Trafford Council, said:
“Voting is one of the most important parts of the democratic process so please make sure you are eligible to vote.
“It only takes five minutes to register so please check you can vote and please go and vote. It is vital to make sure you have a say in all the local issues that affect you.”
To register – or check to see if you are registered, please visit the Government's registration webpage. The deadline is midnight on Tuesday 30 September.
People voting at a polling station are required by the Government to show photo identification. If voters do not have an acceptable form of ID, they can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate (VAC). More details about what forms of ID are acceptable, as well as how to apply for a VAC, are available on the Council’s elections webpage.
People can also apply for a postal vote or proxy vote. Postal vote applications must be made by 5pm on Wednesday 1 October and proxy vote applications by 5pm on Wednesday 8 October. More details on how to apply are on the Council’s elections website.
The list of candidates standing in the by-election can also be viewed at the elections webpage from 5pm on Friday 19 September.
