Families will again be able to access free school uniforms as part of a campaign to support residents through the cost-of-living crisis.
Trafford Council is proud to support Stretford Community Hub who will be hosting a free pop-up uniform exchange session on 18 August and 25 August, 2026, (between 1pm and 3pm every day.)
The Hub, based at Stretford Public Hall on Chester Road, will be working on the project in conjunction with local charities.
Residents are being encouraged to pop into the Public Hall on these dates to bring in school uniform donations and to pick up school uniform for the new year and term.
Emma Finn, Community Hub Co-ordinator, said:
"We are delighted to be hosting uniform exchange sessions again this year. Lat year, we provided hundreds of uniform items to children for the start of the new school year.
"Lots of local parents rely on the uniform exchange so I am proud we are able to bring it back again for this year."
Trafford Council is committed to fighting poverty in the borough and has also made giving children the best start in life a corporate priority.
Cllr George Devlin, the council’s executive member for housing and advice, said:
"School uniforms are a huge expense and many of our residents are struggling to pay for them. This school uniform exchange will provide real support to our residents who are facing financial difficulties due to increased costs across the board.
"This school uniform campaign was launched last year and it has been going from strength to strength. This Council is committed to helping those families who are struggling and this is one way we can save families a lot of money during these very difficult times."
Details on when and where to drop off uniforms will be given nearer the time. For more information, email emma@stretfordpublichall.org.uk
