The exciting multi-million-pound redevelopment of Stretford town centre has taken another step forward.
Trafford Council has announced that builders J Greenwood have been selected as the company it will work with to deliver 52 new homes to the Lacy Street car park site.

The Omnia Stretford scheme, by Trafford Developments, a division of Trafford Council, is made up of six two-bedroom apartments, ten two-bedroom homes, 24 three-bedroom homes and 12 four-bedroom homes. At least 25 per cent of the homes at the project, which was given planning permission by Trafford Council in December last year, will be affordable and details will be announced soon.
The site, just off Chester Road, has been cordoned off and building work is expected to start in August 2026.
The development, at a highly sustainable location next to the Stretford tram stop and the new King Street, will feature the re-introduction of Bannister Street as a landscaped active travel route, connecting Chester Road to the canal, with a link to Edge Lane.
All units are low energy homes relecting the Council's policies to reduce carbon, and all two-bedroom apartments and houses will be car-free and parking spaces will be equipped with electric vehicular charging points (EVCP).
The site forms part of the overall regeneration of Stretford outlined in the Stretford Masterplan.
