Trafford's army of volunteers will be celebrated at special event on 1 June

The Trafford Volunteer Fair, organised in partnership with the Trafford Community Collective and Trafford’s Community Hubs, takes place on Monday, 1 June, from 4pm to 6pm at Sale Library in Sale Waterside.

The free, family-friendly event is part of Volunteers’ Week and will bring together more than 30 local charities and community groups.

Visitors will be able to chat to organisations, try hands-on activities, and discover the many ways to get involved in volunteering across the borough.

It is estimated there are over 1,622 voluntary and community organisations in Trafford which contribute an estimated £139 million to the economy. Around 34,000 residents volunteer their time to support Trafford’s Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector — and more volunteers are always needed.

Cllr Rose Thompson, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Communities and Safety, said:

“Trafford has an army of superb volunteers and we are extremely proud of each and every one of them. Residents are invited to come along to the event and learn more. You may even fancy volunteering yourself and becoming one of the many heroes who help support our VCFSE sector.”

The event is free to attend and refreshments will be available. Those interested in attending do not need to book and can simply drop in on the day.
