How to protect a tree

We have powers to make TPOs on trees with high amenity value and important or notable trees within the Borough. 

We use the Tree Evaluation Method for Preservation Orders (TEMPO) to assess trees to see if they merit protection under a TPO. Trees must score highly to merit protection.

We will usually carry out an assessment on the tree to see if it merits protection and advise you accordingly.
