Applying for building regulations

From Sunday 1 October 2023, if you are undertaking controlled building work and are either the client, contractor or designer, there are new building regulations which you must comply with.

If approval is required for the proposed work, complete and submit the relevant application form. You can contact us for a fee quote before submitting or we will contact you on receipt.

Building Control approval with full plans

The application for building control approval with full plans to inform the local authority of building work etc., is restricted to certain building types. Additional information will also be required to accompany your application for building control approval with full plans, depending upon the work proposed.

This form cannot be used for building control approval applications for higher-risk building work or stage of higher- risk building work or for work to existing higher-risk buildings.

Applications for building work to higher-risk buildings can be made on GOV.UK.

Send the completed application form, along with all relevant building control plans and supporting information to Trafford Building Control, Trafford Town Hall, Talbot Road, Stretford M32 0TH.

You can submit applications and pay online by registering with Planning Portal. There is a £21 per application charge for this service and the fee is payable to Planning Portal.
