We have a wide range of eBooks and eAudiiobooks available from Borrowbox. 

You will need to create an account with Borrowbox either on the Borrowbox website or by downloading the app to your mobile device. You will need your borrower number and PIN to create an account.

eBooks and eAudiobooks for Ukrainians

Odilo, a digital content provider, has launched a free app that provides access to thousands of e-books and audiobooks in a variety of genres, including 1,700 Ukrainian titles and 500 in English. There is material for both children and adults. Kraal: "We hope that everyone – from social workers to host families – will draw the attention of the refugees to this app. To offer them the support, pleasure or comfort of reading, learning and listening in these difficult and uncertain times." Our eMagazine service is now provided by Overdrive Magazines and you can read full digital copies of your favourite magazines for free from your computer, smartphone or tablet. Over 3,000 titles are available covering everything from food to computers, and music to art. Titles include Hello!; BBC Good Food; Amateur Photographer; BBC Top Gear and Cosmopolitan.

The best way to access Overdrive Magazines is with the Libby app. Search for Libby on the app store or Google Play to download for free. Our collection is also available on the web via your browser.

To register on Libby search for a library using ‘Trafford Libraries’ or the name of your local branch then enter the numbers from your library card – if your card has TRP in front of the numbers do not enter the TRP. Then you need to enter the four digit PIN for your library account. Registered cards on Libby are connected to our Library management system so if you don’t know your PIN, your card details are not recognised or you get an error message please contact us to check your library account. Ring or email 0161 912 3189 / libraries@trafford.gov.uk.

Once registered, search for and download your favourite magazine which will be available for 21 days on your device and can be renewed after that time if you still want to read it.

PressReader provides online access to over 7000 daily newspaper and magazine titles from more than 120 countries, in over 60 languages.

Use your Trafford library card to get free, 24/7 access, print articles, listen to audio narration, and translate articles.

Articles can be downloaded and read offline and there are dedicated Apple and Android apps.

How to use PressReader

In any Trafford Library:

  • You can use PressReader on any Trafford library computer or on your device using our library Wi-Fi without logging in or creating a PressReader account
  • Simply visit PressReader and you will automatically gain access

Anywhere else: 

  • Visit PressReader
  • Sign in and select the Library and Group option
  • Type Trafford in the Select Library search box
  • Click Trafford Library from the list and enter your library card number
  • Enter your email address and password to complete your account

You will be given 30 days access after this you will need to sign into your account again every 30 days. Download the Apple or Android PressReader app and login with your account details.
