Trafford Mayor goes back to his musical roots

Trafford's Mayor, Cllr Tom Ross, went back to his musical roots when he took to the stage at the Waterside Arts Centre in Sale.

Cllr Ross, who started having violin lessons at Trafford Music Service at the age of six, joined the group's young players during rehearsals for their concert.

The Mayor said:

It brought back so many happy memories for me, taking to the stage after all these years with the talented young musicians of Trafford Music Service.

They are a credit to Trafford and to themselves. Young people get a great deal of bad press these days, but these musicians show what can be achieved with dedication and hard work. I really enjoyed sharing the stage with them.”

Based at the Claremont Centre in Sale, Trafford Music Service gives young people a chance to have lessons and the experience of playing in ensembles, covering a range of musical styles.
