Picture perfect for Altrincham Library

A picture paints a thousand words.

And that is certainly the case at Altrincham Library after artist Katharine Wiseman presented staff with a stunning painting of Altrincham’s Town Hall. The painting, which will now be a permanent feature at the library, was officially unveiled by Katharine and Trafford Mayor Cllr Tom Ross.

Cllr Ross said:

The painting is stunning and we were delighted to have received it from such a talented artist. It will now take its place in the new Altrincham Library to be enjoyed by generations of art and book lovers.Our thanks go to Katharine – what a wonderful gesture.”

Katharine, who spent six days on the 200cm tall painting, said:

It was my pleasure to paint the Town Hall. I’m excited to have my artwork displayed at Altrincham Library – it will now be seen by the thousands of people who use the facility.”
