Work on a new £6m development in Hale is due to start on Monday, 22nd July, 2019.

Developer Novo, in partnership with Trafford Council, is building 22 new homes – 10 town houses and 12 apartments - along with a new decked car park, on Brown Street next to the town’s railway station.

More than half of the homes being built are of affordable tenure, six apartments are for shared ownership and another six are shared ownership for over 55s only.

The initial works being undertaken will include setting up the site, followed by a period of ground remediation before the main construction starts.

Novo has held various public consultation events with local residents on the scheme which is expected to be completed in December 2020. People living in the area have also been sent leaflets informing them that the work is due to start.

Trafford Council gave planning permission for the homes and car park, which are being built by construction firm CPUK,  in December last year.

Cllr James Wright, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Housing and Regeneration, said:

The scheme will provide much-needed affordable homes in Hale and, through developing this site, we are able to invest into the existing car park facility, improving its services and security for the public.”

Novo MD, Ben Fearns, said:

This is a complex scheme on a constrained site, so it is a credit to the whole delivery team to now be able to move it forward. With so few brownfield sites remaining in Hale this is an excellent opportunity to be delivering new homes, and we are so pleased to be able to do so with this affordable provision on site. With Hale’s well established community our team have sought to engage as much as possible, should anyone else wish to get in touch feel free to contact the team: brownstreet@novoproperty.co.uk.

We will continue to provide a very visible presence during the on site works, along with our contractor, CPUK."
