Film fans in Trafford are being offered a rare chance to enjoy a season of Japanese films at Altrincham Little Theatre.
The event, which runs from September 8 to February 23, includes 19 movies all the way from the Far East. The season has been recognised as an official event by the Embassy of Japan for the Japan-UK season of culture 2019-2020. The season has been organised by John Grieve who is the secretary of the Altrincham Little Theatre. Mr Grieve, from Timperley, who organises the Manchester Film Weekender, said:
This is a wonderful opportunity to share with other audience members, rarely seen and unique films from Japan, introduced by our very enthusiastic speakers. All within the intimate gem of Altrincham Little Theatre.
Cllr Jane Baugh, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Culture and Leisure, said:
Altrincham little theatre which is also renowned for its excellent plays is a superb setting for these films. We are fortunate indeed to have such an enthusiast as John Grieve who offers the residents of Trafford a rare opportunity to enjoy these unusual films and have insight into so many different cultures.
