Travel business flying high thanks to help from Trafford Council

A new travel business is flying high after opening with help from Trafford Council.

Trending Travel, the brainchild of CEO Keith Herman and co-founder Sophie Foster, took the brave decision to open up in Trafford during the global coronavirus pandemic.

The company started trading last month with financial help from Trafford Council’s Discretionary Grant Scheme. The scheme was introduced to provide grants to small businesses unable to benefit from existing government assistance programmes.

Trending Travel has also just employed two digital apprentices from The Juice Academy, who will be working full time within the business. The company sends out influencers and celebrities on holiday to help plan and design holidays for the public. They so far include Strictly star, Saffron Barker, model Felicity Hayward, and actors Emma Barton and NTA winner Katie McGlynn.

Keith and Sophie, who have over 50 years’ travel experience between them, identified a niche market over a year ago and have been carefully shaping their unique service ever since.

Keith said:

We have created a travel company that engages directly with our customers.  Our aim is to inform, excite and delight them, even before they step on the plane.

We are ready to showcase what we’ve been working on for the past few months and share the incredible holidays that some of our celebrity clients have already enjoyed. Thank you to Trafford Council for helping us.”

Cllr James Wright, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for housing and regeneration, said:

I am delighted that Trending Travel has taken the decision to open and they look to have a very exciting future ahead of them.

These are challenging times for our small businesses and we wish them every success. I am proud that the Council’s Discretionary Grant Scheme has helped yet another business in our borough.”

Trending Travel applied for support under category one of the scheme, which helps companies located in shared or flexible workspaces which do not have their own business rates assessment.
