Grant applications now open for businesses affected by COVID-19 restrictions

Trafford Council is inviting grant applications from eligible Trafford-based businesses that are liable for business rates and have been impacted by COVID-19 local and national lockdown restrictions, as it rolls out the government’s Local Restriction Support Grant Scheme.

Grants are available both to businesses that remained open when Trafford was placed in Tier 2 restrictions from 1 August 2020 and were subject to local restrictions AND businesses that have been required to close due to temporary COVID-19 local and national lockdown rules.

Details of which businesses are eligible, the level of grant support available and how to apply can be found via the links below:

Businesses do not need to apply for more than one scheme; the Council is taking one application per business and will assess eligibility for grants covering the Open and Closed schemes.

Cllr Tom Ross, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Finance and Investment, said:

“We are acutely aware of the challenges the latest round of coronavirus restrictions have posed for many Trafford-based companies, and will be working through applications as quickly as possible to provide businesses with the financial support they need.

We would urge all businesses to check the eligibility criteria carefully and make their applications as soon as possible.”
