United star urges fans: Don't miss out on England's Old Trafford Euros game

Manchester United and England star Ella Toone has urged football fans not to miss out on watching England play at Old Trafford.

The application window to be included in the ballot process for the opening game of UEFA Women’s Euros 2022 closes at 6pm on Tuesday and star striker Ella said she wanted to see a full stadium of passionate fans.

She said:

“It’s a dream come true to play at Old Trafford for England and it’s massive in the women’s game.Playing in front of crowds is the reason why we play football. It’s going to be amazing with the atmosphere and being able to go out there and show what you can do in front of all those people.

If you haven’t already got your ticket, get them because it’s going to be really exciting.”

Last week, Ella and United teammate Alessia Russo attended a training session at Stretford High School, a partner school at Manchester United Foundation.
Speaking at the session, Alessia believes the tournament will be a great advert for the women’s game and inspire more girls to take up the game.
The England forward added:

“I think it’s so exciting, not only for women’s football but especially for all the local girls in this community. It’s great to come here and see young talent coming through, and hopefully see them at Old Trafford when the Euros kick off.”

Also at the session was Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Culture and Leisure.

She said:

“We are delighted to be hosting the Women’s Euros here in Trafford. It’s going to be an amazing family-friendly event, so book your ticket!”
