Free holiday clubs for eligible young people this summer!

Eligible young people across Trafford are being offered places in a fabulous free holiday clubs programme over the school Summer holidays.

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme will provide healthy food and fun activities to children and young people, with free places available for those on free school meals.

HAF, which is funded by the Government, was also delivered by Trafford Council across the Easter holidays and helped provide more than 2,000 young people with free meals and fun activities.

Both primary and secondary school aged children will be able to access the sessions throughout the holidays, including provisions available for children with additional needs, at no cost to parents.

Trafford Council will work with more than 20 providers to help put on the sessions. They will include a variety of fun activities, including sports, music, arts and other exciting opportunities to learn and develop skills like meeting new friends, alongside a nutritious meal each day.

Cllr Cath Hynes, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Children’s Services, said:

“The HAF programme will provide a huge boost to thousands of young people across our borough. We are working with local schools, voluntary and community organisations, and childcare providers to provide the programme with free places funded by the Department for Education. Health and wellbeing is very important to Trafford Council and we hope as many eligible youngsters as possible sign up to the scheme for a healthy and fun summer break.”
