Trafford Council and Trafford Housing Trust, part of L&Q – one of the UK’s leading housing associations and developers – have formed a unique partnership to bring forward innovative plans to regenerate land off Bold Street in Old Trafford into a new, landscape-led community.
The partnership – known as Homes for Trafford – is inviting the local community to find out more about the plans, submit their feedback and help to shape the proposals before the designs are finalised.
The public consultation will be held between Monday 18th July and Monday 1st August, with a drop-in event on Tuesday 26th July at the Limelight Health and Wellbeing Hub. Located on land off Bold Street, the site was the former home to three high-rise tower blocks and the Seahawk Pub.
Having been vacant land for many years since, Homes for Trafford is proposing the development of an innovative, attractive and inclusive community that will bring this site back into use.
Having held a first consultation in February and March 2021, Homes for Trafford is now bringing forward proposals for 161 energy-efficient contemporary homes and apartments in a range of styles, sizes and tenure. The scheme will include 30% affordable homes, a café or commercial space for a local business or community group, plus attractive landscaping and greenspaces.
The plans prioritise sustainable travel measures including walking and cycling routes, so that people can live and work without the need for a car, ensuring that low-carbon values are upheld from planning through to occupation.

All feedback received up to and including Monday 1st August will be reviewed by the project team and incorporated, where possible, into the final designs before a planning application is submitted.
