Bin your rubbish for a chance to win cash prizes in Trafford!

A new campaign funded through on-the-spot fines to encourage residents and visitors to help keep Trafford clean and put rubbish in bins instead of littering has been launched by the Council, with cash prizes up for grabs!

To enter, players must download the free LitterLotto app to their mobile and upload photos of themselves binning rubbish in a council street bin via the app’s camera function. Each month, a prize draw will see one lucky person chosen at random win the prize. People can enter as many times as they like, as long as it’s different litter each time being deposited.

There will be one prize winner every month for entries within the borough. They will also be automatically enrolled into the national prize draws managed by LitterLotto, offering a range of other prizes including a £1,000 Jackpot cash prize.

Trafford Council is trialling LitterLotto for three months, to give as many residents as possible a chance to get involved.

Cllr Stephen Adshead, Executive Member for Highways, Environmental and Traded Services, said: “We want Trafford to become more beautiful than it already is and that means doing all we can to stop littering in the borough.

“Working with LitterLotto allows us to reward those who help to keep the borough tidy by putting their litter in the bin, as well as working with our dedicated volunteers who collect many bags of litter at a time.”

David Landsberg, Founder of LitterLotto, said: “Myself and the LitterLotto team are delighted to welcome Trafford Council to partner with us!

“If you had told me when we launched LitterLotto that in just 18 months we’d have given away hundreds of thousands of pounds in prizes and seen over 10million pieces of litter binned through our app, I would have been blown away. It’s thanks to our fantastic partnering councils and the great work of their residents that we’re achieving such impressive results.”

The official rules for the LitterLotto can be found on their website. Terms and conditions apply.
