2023 Admission arrangements (determined)

Trafford community and voluntary controlled schools

Consultation on the proposed admission arrangements and associated procedures for community and voluntary controlled schools for the 2023 academic year began on 8 October 2021 and ended on 18 November 2021.

The consultation was announced to all Trafford head teachers, governors, relevant Diocese, other local authorities, relevant parents and other groups with an interest in the local area. The consultation notice was published in the local press, advertised through Trafford’s Early Years updates, published in Trafford’s ebulletin and on Trafford’s website.

The admission arrangements for Trafford’s Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools were proposed unchanged. However, the LA did propose an increase to the Published Admissions Number (PAN) for Firs Primary School from 60 to 90.

All admission authorities must determine (i.e. formally agree) their admission arrangements by 28 February in the determination year, even if they have not changed from previous years and a consultation has not been required.

The following arrangements were determined by Trafford’s Executive Member for Children’s Services on 10 February 2022.

  1. 2023 admission arrangements (primary, infant and junior community and voluntary-controlled schools)
  2. 2023 Admission Numbers (PANs)
  3. Lostock High School - 2023 Admission Arrangements
  4. 2023 Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme (Primary)
  5. 2023 Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme (Secondary)

Any person, or body, can make an objection to the schools adjudicator when they consider that a maintained school or academy's arrangements are unlawful, or not in compliance with the School Admissions Code or relevant law relating to admissions. Objections must be submitted to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator by 15 May.
