Any request to change a number or suffix due to superstition or personal preference will be refused.

Adding a name to an address

To name your own house or commercial building, you must seek permission from us if there is no number already allocated in the official address.

If a property is already numbered, the owner can additionally name their property. This name cannot be used as an alternative to the number.

The number must always be included in the address and displayed on the property. For example:

'My House' (not part of official address)

1 My Road (official address)

Postcode
