Review of polling districts and polling stations

We are currently carrying out a review of our polling districts, and the buildings used as polling stations. 

Suggestions for changes are sought from electors, political parties and other interested organisations. We also welcome representations from any persons or body with expertise in relation to access to premises or facilities for persons with any type of disability. 

The second consultation period has now ended.

In accordance with legislative requirements, all comments received and any subsequent responses from the (Acting) Returning Officer will be published. It is the (Acting) Returning Officer's role to select the polling stations. Proposed changes to polling districts or polling places will be considered and approved by the Council.

The final scheme for polling arrangements will be adopted by the Chief Executive, in accordance with the Council’s constitution.
