Documents you need

You must upload colour copies of the following documents:

  • a basic criminal disclosure certificate issued within one month from the Disclosure and Barring Service
  • disclosure of convictions and declaration
  • your personal licence qualification certificate
  • proof of address dated within 3 months i.e utility bill or bank statement
  • two passport style photographs, one signed by a recognised professional such as a doctor, solicitor, teacher, magistrate or minister. To sign your photo, a recognised professional must complete a form of endorsement of photograph
  • proof of right to work in the UK, such as
    • a British or EU passport, which can be expired
    • a full birth or adoption certificate issued in the UK
    • a current Immigration Status Document from the Home Office
    • a right to work share code

You may be asked to bring the original documents to an in person appointment.

  1. Go to our payments page.
  2. Select Licensing from the categories.
  3. Select Apply.
  4. Select Personal - New.
  5. Make your payment and keep the receipt reference.

Make a note of your receipt number, as you’ll need it when you complete the application form.
