Disability Access Fund (DAF)

The Disability Access Fund provides a yearly payment of £975 to early education providers. It helps providers make reasonable adjustments for children with special educational needs and disabilities who receive funded early education.

The funding supports access to the Early Years Foundation Stage and helps remove barriers in the learning environment.

The funding is paid once per financial year. It goes to a single provider chosen by the parent. The payment does not move with a child if they transfer to another provider.

Providers must meet their legal duties under the Equality Act 2010. This includes thinking ahead about the adjustments a child may need and planning for access to provision, routines and teaching.
