What happens in an inspection?
Part of:
Accommodation certificates
To get an accommodation certificate, an officer will inspect your property to ensure it's suitable and not overcrowded.
They'll measure each room and check for Category 1 hazards under the Housing Act 2004. The size of the habitable rooms determines the maximum occupancy for a single household.
If your property would become overcrowded by sponsoring someone, you'll need to find them alternative accommodation.
