New homes on Sale Magistrates site are up for sale – and proving popular

Dozens of homes being built on a new housing development in the centre of Sale are now on the market – and generating a lot of interest.

Work is progressing well on the Courts development – made up of 84 new market sale and affordable homes on the site of the former Sale Magistrates’ Court off Washway Road.

More than 200 house hunters have so far enquired about reserving one of the homes, delivered by Trafford Developments, a residential arm of Trafford Council specialising in building new and sustainable homes in the borough.

The development features a diverse range of apartments and houses.  The Courts development will showcase a new public realm and the planting of new trees, bringing social, economic and environmental benefits to a superb urban setting with excellent transport links.

The design of these contemporary, sustainable homes includes solar panels to both front and rear elevations. The delivery of energy efficient homes in the borough, supports the Council’s corporate priorities of addressing the climate crisis and providing a thriving economy and homes for all.

Trafford Council purchased the site, situated on a key arterial route, from Homes England with the intention of redeveloping the land to provide new homes that sit close to the town centre.

The delivery of new homes on the site is aligned with the council’s objective of creating thriving, inclusive communities. Homes at The Courts are available to reserve for sale from now and are being marketed by Ashton Holme.

Local developer PIC Homes, who recently completed Phase 1 of The Saplings development in Timperley, are delivering the scheme, alongside Trafford Developments.

Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, said:

“The Sale Magistrates’ court housing development is a flagship scheme and meets the Council’s policy of building more housing on brownfield sites, with 25 per cent affordable homes in line with prevailing planning policies.

“The homes are being provided in a key strategic area of the borough and will help with the housing shortage in the area. The Council is very proud of this development  which is a great example of how we can regenerate our brownfield sites with the help of partners.”

Co-owners of PIC Homes, Armaan Chohan and David Strettle, are delighted to be delivering the project. A spokesperson for the company said: “We are really pleased to be working with Trafford Council to develop this site into much needed family homes.”
