How to employ an apprentice

Trafford Council works closely with partner organisations to provide you with any support you need in relation to staff recruitment and training.

We can also offer advice and guidance on how to utilise apprenticeships to support your business’ growth.

Please email the apprenticeships team at apprentices@trafford.gov.uk for more information, or you could get involved with the Trafford Pledge

  • Please visit the Greater Manchester Apprenticeship Hub for all the information you need to employ an apprentice or offer an apprenticeship to an existing member of staff.
  • If you do not have the capacity to employ full time apprentices then you could consider a shared apprenticeship through Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.
  • If you are thinking about taking on an apprentice but are not sure what skills you need to support your growth plans then Apprenticeship Growth Service can help you put together a workforce development plan and find the right courses, training providers and where applicable grant funding. Visit the Business Growth Hub web site or call 0161 359 3050.
