Groups who love their communities can apply for £2k funding

Groups across Trafford who love their communities are being invited to apply for a special grant from the Council worth up to £2,000.

The latest round of the Inclusive Neighbourhood Grants scheme is open to groups looking to put on an event or deliver a special project in their community.

Perhaps your group wants to improve a local asset, like a park? Or are you looking to celebrate your local area and bring people together? If so, apply now and you may be able to secure funding.

The Inclusive Neighbourhood Grants Scheme has grants available in two sizes: up to £500 for events and up to £2,000 for projects.

The 2021 scheme was a huge success and supported nine events and 48 projects totalling nearly £85,000. This included projects that have helped to improve local parks and playgrounds, wellbeing sessions, walking groups, music projects, bee keeping and many more!

Councillor Graham Whitham, Executive Member for Communities and Partnerships, said:

"The Inclusive Neighbourhoods Grants scheme will support local people to put on an event or deliver a project that brings people together, is organised by residents, improves a local asset such as a park, or showcases community strengths. We want residents to be proud of where they live, and be active in their local community – and if that is you, please apply now.

We have so far given out £85,000 to local projects and we want this to continue. We know that many people might wish to celebrate the Jubilee or just the end of winter! Having thriving communities is really important to Trafford Council so I would urge any community group hoping to deliver a project or event to apply and help increase pride in our wonderful Trafford communities."

The Scheme comes in four rounds - Round 1 closes on April 30th 2022, Round 2 on July 31st 2022, Round 3 on October 31st 2022 and Round 4 on January 31st 2023.

We would like to invite Trafford residents to submit their applications for events like street parties, picnics in the park or play streets or with their ideas for larger projects. Find out more about play streets.
