Residents and community groups are being urged to help Trafford look spick and span.

The annual Great British Spring Clean takes place from 17 March to 2 April and this year’s focus is on the pride litter pickers have for their local community.

Trafford Council is donating a free litter picker and litter bags for people who sign the Be Responsible pledge and is calling on people to get involved.

Cllr Stephen Adshead, Executive Member for Environmental Services, said:

“The weather doesn’t seem like it but spring is coming and we want people to be able to enjoy the great outdoors.

“We’ve got fantastic parks and outdoor spaces in Trafford and spring is often when they can look their best with trees, plants and flowers beginning to bloom.

“If everyone can help out by picking just one bag of litter, that will make a massive difference and help our communities look better than ever.”

Details of litter picking events are on the Let’s Tidy Trafford Together page on Facebook. To sign the Council’s Be Responsible pledge, visit the Council's street-care webpage.
