Black bin

Your black bin is for mixed recycling and is collected every four weeks.

Please rinse your items before you put them in the bin. 

What you can put in your black bin

• Empty aerosols (find out how to recycle your aerosol cans)
• Foil and foil trays
• Food and drink cans
• Bottle-shaped plastics (no lids) such as cleaning product bottles, trigger spray bottles, shampoo and shower gel bottles, drink bottles, and milk bottles
• Glass bottles and jars (no lids)
• Plastic pots (yoghurt, soup, cosmetics, etc)
• Plastic tubs (margarine, laundry powder, chocolates, etc)
• Plastic trays, including black plastic trays (raw and cooked meat, fruit and veg punnets etc)

What we won't empty

• Plastic bags
• Plastic packaging or other soft plastics
• Hard plastics (plastic garden furniture, children’s toys, coat hangers etc)
• Electrical items
• Paint cans (metal or plastic)
• Gas bottles
