Your grey bin is for waste you cannot recycle, and is collected every two weeks.

If you meet our criteria, you can request extra grey bin space.

What you can put in your grey bin

  • Other plastic packaging (e.g. empty crisp packets)
  • Plastic bags
  • Polystyrene
  • Cotton wool and makeup pads
  • Nappies and sanitary products
  • Tissues and wet wipes

What we won't empty

  • Rubble
  • Asbestos
  • Electrical goods
  • Paint cans (metal or plastic)

If your grey bin hasn't been fully emptied

Our crew will not manually remove rubbish stuck at the bottom of your bin. To prevent this, avoid over-compacting waste and placing lightweight items, like polystyrene, at the bottom.

If you have stuck waste, you can loosen it with a broom handle for the next collection or dispose of it yourself at a local household waste recycling centre.
