At the moment the area faces the following travel issues:

  • the difficulty of crossing the A6144 during peak periods
  • the lack of safe, quality cycle routes to schools and local amenities
  • to enhance the experience of bus users

The range of draft proposals include:

  • introducing new crossings and improve existing crossings
  • creating segregated cycle lanes to provide safe routes to schools and local attractions
  • constructing ‘quietways’ – where cyclists share routes with low speed and low volume traffic
  • upgrading bus stops and shelters
  • adding traffic-calming measures that encourage low speeds and discourage cut-through on residential roads
