Radicalisation is the process of someone adopting extreme beliefs and, in some cases, acting on them through terrorism. This may be direct through a relationship, or through social media.

It is within itself a form of harm.

Support to prevent radicalisation

  • The ACT Early Support Line offers advice to callers who are worried about someone who might be becoming radicalised. Call 0800 011 3764.
  • The Runaway Helpline has more information about radicalisation, as well as a helpline for anyone considering running away from home. Call 116 000.
  • Prevent supports people at risk of becoming involved with terrorism through radicalisation.
