What is the Community Infrastructure Levy
The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a charge that local authorities can apply to new developments to help fund infrastructure.
Trafford's CIL Charging Schedule came into effect on 7 July 2014. It sets out the rates that apply to different types of development in different parts of the borough.

CIL rates are set in a formal Charging Schedule. Different types of development are charged at different rates per square metre.
