What's on

Weekly events

  • Monday Chair yoga 1:30pm (£2.00 per session)
    Join us for 30 minutes of gentle stretches and breathing exercises. Suitable for all levels and abilities and no previous experience of yoga needed. No booking, just turn up on the day (but spaces are limited).
  • Monday Knittng group 1:30pm
    We discuss a wide variety of things including sewing, crochet, knitting and cross-stitch. The groups are suitable for beginners, right through to you knitting experts!
  • Tuesday Art Club 1:00pm – 02:00pm
    Come meet other art–lovers in our informal group run by staff. We show you different projects and techniques, with some materials provided. You can also bring your own materials, and just use the space to get creative and meet others.
  • Tuesday Rhymetime for under 5s 11:00am
    No booking required.
  • Wednesday Gentle mat yoga 10:30am (£2.00 per session)
    Bring your own mat. No booking, just turn up on the day (but spaces are limited).
  • Wednesday Makaton Awareness Group 12:15pm – 1:30pm drop in
    Starting 23 February for 6 weeks. Join a friendly group drop in were you can learn about Makaton and some of the basics including alphabet, greetings, travel etc.
  • Thursday Storytime for under 5s 11:00am
    No booking required.
  • Thursday Rhymetime for under 5s 1:30pm
    No booking required.

  • Davyhulme Quilters - second and fourth Thursday every month (Room 2) 1:30 - 3:30pm.
  • Coffee Morning - every Friday, 10:30am – 12:00 noon.
  • Page Turners readers' group - the third Tuesday of the month, 6:00pm.
  • Scribblers writing group - third Saturday of each month, 1:00pm - 3:00pm.
  • Afternoon readers' group - the fourth Thursday of the month, 2:00pm.
  • Crime Time readers' group - the last Friday of the month, 2:00pm.
  • Lego Club - first Saturday of the month, 11:00am – 12:30pm book a place via Eventbrite.
  • Scribblers Writers’ Group third Saturday of the month, 1:00pm – 3:30pm.
    Want to write but can’t get started? Made a start but don’t know how to carry on? Finished, but not sure what to do next? Then come along to this group.
  • LGBT+ readers' Group - last Tuesday of the month 5:30pm - 6:30pm. For more details email Urmston.library@trafford.gov.uk.

Items which are not in stock at Urmston Library but are available from another Trafford library can be requested free of charge.
