  • Disability Access Fund (DAF)

The Disability Access Fund provides a yearly payment of £975 to early education providers. It helps providers make reasonable adjustments for children with special educational needs and disabilities who receive funded early education.

  • Eligibility for DAF

A child is eligible for the Disability Access Fund if they receive Disability Living Allowance and take up funded early education hours. Children do not need to take up their full entitlement to receive the Disability Access Fund.

What you need to do to deliver funded early education places in Trafford.

  • How to claim funding

Early education providers are responsible for identifying with parents and carers if a child is eligible for the Disability Access Fund.

To claim the funding, you must:

  • Keeping evidence of spending

Providers must keep clear records of how the Disability Access Fund has been used. This includes receipts for resources or training and a written explanation of why the funding was spent in a particular way.
