Cremated remains will be held for collection at the crematorium for 28 days free of charge – after which a monthly charge will be applied.

Interment of cremated remains

There are different options available for the interment of cremated remains, depending on availability and choice of cemetery:

Dunham Lawn Cemetery - Cremated remains can be interred in an existing burial plot, but there are no new burial plots available. New vaults and niches are available.

Hale Cemetery - New vaults are available for the interment of cremated remains.

Sale Cemetery, Stretford Cemetery, and Urmston Cemetery - New burial plots are available for the interment of cremated remains.

The Ashes Register

The Ashes Register is an online platform that allows you to record and map the final resting place of your loved one’s ashes. This ensures their memory is preserved for future generations. 

There is a searchable database where you can look for the locations of friends and relatives.

How it works 

You can create a basic listing for free. There is the option to enhance your listing for an additional fee. 

Enhanced Memorial Wall

For an extra fee you can add personal touches, for example:

  • photos,
  • videos,
  • stories to celebrate their life.

This feature also includes a:

  • family history section,
  • condolences area,
  • book of remembrance.
