Why you need an operating licence
The operating licence confirms that you, or the organisation you represent, are suitable to run gambling activities.
It checks that you:
- are aged 18 or over
- are financially stable
- have no relevant criminal convictions
- can meet the Gambling Commission’s requirements for running a compliant gambling business
You must have a valid or pending operating licence before Trafford Council can grant a premises licence.
