How long the licence lasts
A premises licence does not expire.
It remains valid until:
- you surrender it in writing to Trafford Council
- it is revoked following a review
- it lapses, for example if the licence holder or company ceases to exist
You must pay the annual licence fee to keep your licence active.
You will be contacted each year with payment details.
Licence conditions
Every premises licence includes:
- mandatory conditions set out in the Gambling Act 2005
- default conditions which may limit hours or activities
- any additional conditions imposed by the Licensing Sub-Committee
You must display your premises licence summary in a prominent position at the premises.
Reviews and enforcement
Your licence can be reviewed if:
- there are complaints or evidence of non-compliance
- the licensing objectives are not being met
- there is a request for a review by a responsible authority or another party
If a review takes place, the Licensing Sub-Committee may:
- amend or remove conditions
- suspend the licence
- revoke the licence
If your circumstances change
You must tell Trafford Council if:
- the licence holder changes
- the premises layout changes
- the nature of the gambling activities changes
You may need to apply for a new licence or variation.
