Who and what can be submitted
This guide explains how petitions work, what you can submit a petition about, and what happens after a petition is received.
A petition lets members of the public raise issues that matter to them and ask the Council to take action.
We will respond to every petition we receive and handle it in a way that allows it to be considered as quickly and appropriately as possible.
What you can submit a petition about
You can submit a petition about:
- issues the Council is responsible for
- issues affecting Trafford or its communities where the Council can influence the outcome
- improvements to the economic, social, or environmental wellbeing of the borough where the Council or its partners could contribute
Who can submit or sign a petition
Anyone who lives, works, or studies in Trafford can sign or organise a petition, including people under 18.
