Altrincham Library is now open. Our opening hours are currently 10am-4pm, Monday to Saturday. 

Currently books can only be borrowed if requested in advance and should be collected from Altrincham Library. Please see our Order and collect  page for further details.

Using Open+ technology we have increased the opening times at Altrincham Library. The library is staffed for the core hours of 10am - 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am - 4pm on Saturdays. The library is open on Sunday from 10am to 4pm using Open+.

Altrincham Library has Open+ technology installed to enable the opening hours of the library to be extended without having to increase staff numbers. If you require this type of access you can call in at any library, or ring our Contact Centre on 912 3189.

Our events are not currently running.

  • Rhymetime for under 5s every Monday, 11-11.30am 
  • Readers' Group - Group 1 meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 11am. Please see our Readers' Groups page for further details.
  • Welfare Rights - every Tuesday 10 - 1pm.
  • Knitting group for all abilities, every Tuesday 1-3pm
  • Readers' Group - Group 2 meets on the first Wednesday a month at 7pm. Please see our Readers' Groups page for further details.
  • One to one tablet sessions, Wednesday morning 11am-12noon and every other Friday 11am-12noon - book with staff at Altrincham Library
  • Storytime every Thursday at 11am. 
  • Gentle Yoga – Thursdays 11–11.30am,  £2 per session 
  • Rhymetime for under 5s every Friday at 2pm
  • Family LEGO® Brick Building Club - 2-3pm, on the first Saturday of the month. Be creative, learn new skills and have fun at our new drop in LEGO® Brick Building Clubs. For children aged 6-11 and their grown up(s)! We will also have Duplo® bricks available for younger children to join in the building fun.

Altrincham Library has three meeting rooms available to hire. The rooms are flexible and can be booked in any combination - one room, two rooms or all three rooms. for further details see our Altrincham meeting rooms page.

Items which are not in stock at Altrincham Library but are available from another Trafford library can be requested free of charge.

Altrincham Library has the following items available for loan:

The nearest car park to the library is on Regent Road (charges apply). Short term parking is also available on Market Street where charges apply. There are a number of disabled bays outside the library on Market Street.
