Overview
We have completed a number of projects to improve the A56. These have involved junction upgrades.
Junction upgrades at Sinderland Road and Barrington Road
These junction upgrades were part of Sale West to Altrincham Network Improvements (SWANI). It is also a Quality Bus Transit (QBT) scheme.
SWANI was a targeted infrastructure programme to modernise and improve a key bus corridor in Trafford. It supported Greater Manchester's push for safer, greener, and more accessible public transport.
This junction upgrade work was a critical first step in the SWANI Main Interventions. It aimed at delivering long-term bus network improvements and fostering safer, greener travel in Trafford.
