Project background
In response to the Covid pandemic Central Government made funding available to Local Authorities. The funding was to enhance cycling and walking facilities.
We were allocated £366,000 to improve our cycling and walking offer. We split the money into two portions, one for temporary projects and the other for long term projects.
Some of the temporary projects included:
- A56 pop-up cycle lane corridor
- Modal filters around the borough
- enhancements to existing cycle lanes
